Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange
Program 
During a visit to Indonesia in January this year by the
Board of the Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII), the
Australian Ambassador in Jakarta, Mr Bill Farmer AO,
signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesian
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport to continue one of
the AII’s most successful programs, the
Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP).
The AII, therefore, invites applications from young
people aged between 21 and 25 years at the time of
application, willing to represent Australia for two
months in Indonesia during December 2007 and January
2008, as members of the AIYEP 2007-08.
The program aims to provide wider opportunities for the
young people of Indonesia and Australia to appreciate
the culture, development and way of life of each other’s
country. Participants will be chosen from applicants
undertaking tertiary studies or employed in any one or
more of the areas listed below.
Agriculture, Arts, Music, Asian Studies, Economics,
Business, Education, Engineering, Science, Environmental
Management, Journalism, Media, Law, Medicine, Politics,
Sports and Tourism.
A good level of Indonesian language is desirable.
The Indonesian exchangees are due to arrive in Australia
in October 2007 and be hosted in Victoria.

Completed applications and accompanying documents must
be received by the Australia-Indonesia Institute by
Friday 29 June 2007. Late applications will not be
accepted.
